Childhood Sexual Abuse

Every 98 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. Every 8 minutes, the victim is a child. The National Center of Child Abuse and Neglect estimates that 200,000 children are sexually molested a year. There is a stigma surrounding sexual assault victims which often causes victims to not report abuse. With children, there is a higher chance of the abuse going unreported. The goal of the campaign is to spread awareness of child abuse to school districts and assist in identification and prevention. A pamphlet will be sent to schools, informing the district of the program and offering a trail. Emblem pins will also be sent out as reminders of the efforts behind the campaign. The ultimate goal is to have schools implement StoryMaker, a game of options or situations to identify red flags of abuse, in special education classrooms across the United States.
