In 2022, the NASA Psyche satellite will begin its trajectory to Psyche. Led by Arizona State University, the mission will lead us to a world made not of rock, but of metal. Believed to be the remnant core of an early protoplanet, the metal asteroid could reveal insights about our own earth’s core. So, how do we keep people engaged in the mission until its completion in 2027? We plan to increase interest in Psyche through a tournament called Psyche Slam, designed to bring space exploration to inner city youth. This tournament will facilitate an intersection between the arts, athletics, and academics. By partnering up with NASA, ASU, Adidas, and The Boys and Girls Club, we hope to encourage youth to pursue higher education while also showing them that an interest in space exploration can be expressed through a variety of different career paths.
