Coming from a heavily artistic childhood, Elke Fajut immigrated from the Philippines with her family to pursue their lives in America. From advanced art classes in high school and independent original work, Elke has continued her creative studies as a graphic design student under the Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts at Arizona State University. She wishes to expand her career into the different facets of design, including exhibition, film-making, and communications with her passion for social changes.
Transgender and gender non-conforming individuals (GNC) often face higher rates of depression and suicidal ideation. About 82% of transgender/GNC individuals have considered suicide and of that, 40% have attempted suicide. Repeatedly for these individuals, their quality of life dims as they struggle for equality and acceptance.
