From duct tape purses and chalk art, to choir posters and a BSD in Visual Communication Design, Isabelle Johnson has always loved to communicate joy through design. Isabelle is Arizona born and raised, and has loved learning about graphic design at ASU. When she’s not designing she’s thinking about designing, but she also loves to read a book for the 10th time or try out a new recipe. Isabelle hopes to continue to learn and to continue to have fun while designing.
Occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. You may worry about things such as health, money, or family problems. But anxiety disorders involve more than temporary worry or fear. The anxiety does not go away and can get worse over time. It interferes with daily living. Anxiety in women is more prevalent and detrimental. From the time a girl reaches puberty until about the age of 50, she is twice as likely to have an anxiety disorder as a man.
Anxiety manifests and affects women differently than men. There are still a lot of unanswered questions on why anxiety affects women the way that it does. Women have traditionally been neglected in medical research, and conditions that affect women are chronically understudied. It’s important to understand that when a woman says they are experiencing anxiety it is not a throw away statement. Anxiety is a serious and debilitating disorder that deserves consideration and acknowledgment.
