Leah is a budding visual designer based in the East Valley of Arizona. While finishing her design education at Arizona State University, she enjoys spending time with loved ones and watching movies. Leah is currently interning at Arizona Wholesale Growers, where she creates content for digital and print mediums, as well as the occasional TikTok. Once graduated, she hopes to one day become a UX Researcher and/or Designer for a design agency or large tech company like Google or Intel.
Systemic poverty in communities of color presents a pervasive challenge that affects countless individuals and families. Economic disparities and institutional barriers create limited opportunities for education, employment, and upward mobility. The repercussions of this systemic issue extend beyond financial constraints, impacting access to quality healthcare, housing, and social services. The cycle of poverty often perpetuates itself, leading to adverse effects on physical and mental health, educational attainment, and overall community well-being.
Addressing systemic poverty requires a comprehensive approach that involves dismantling discriminatory policies, promoting economic empowerment, and fostering equitable growth opportunities. By advocating for systemic change, we can work towards breaking the chains of poverty and building a more just and inclusive society for communities of color.
