Attracted to art and design since a child, Luis Blanco is a first-gen Mexican-American Graphic designer based in Phoenix, Arizona. Sketching and editing since he could remember led him to design for his highschool newspaper and student government classes, persuading him into the career of Graphic Design. Luis's primary focus lies in the development of logos and branding, as he aspires to pursue a career with a sports or technology company down the line. Luis is excited to graduate in May 2024, and thrilled for what's to come.
The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated mental health challenges among Latinos, leading to a noticeable decline in well-being within this community. The combination of factors such as economic hardships, disproportionate infection rates, and limited access to healthcare resources has significantly contributed to heightened stress, anxiety, and depression levels. For many Latinos, the pandemic has not only disrupted daily routines but has also brought about feelings of uncertainty about the future, fear of contracting the virus, grief over loss of loved ones, and also loneliness. As a result, addressing the mental health needs of Latinos during and after the pandemic is crucial, necessitating culturally sensitive support services and resources to promote resilience and recovery within this population.
