Ev, short for Everest, is an ex-pro gamer turned graphic designer. Formerly attending another university for Video Game Art and Animation, he found his true love for design after dropping out and enrolling at ASU. Well known for his ceaseless cat-posting and passion for all things adorable, he looks to make his mark on the world of visual arts by producing nothing short of eye-catching. After completing his Bachelor’s of Science in Design, and six grueling years of university, Ev plans to escape the Arizona desert – and hopefully never return to higher education again.

Fourth Grade Syndrome

Environment

By the time adolescent, black boys reach fourth grade, the curriculum fails to support them in their journey to adulthood. Their self-perception suffers, and their success in school drops tremendously – setting them up for failure in the years to come. Countless studies of elementary-aged youth have shown that the intense curriculum change undergone during fourth grade is detrimental to all students, but, most affected are black boys. Centuries of racism, a lack of black male role models in the teaching industry, and gaps in mental health assistance all result in the endless suffering that black men face, regardless of their age.
