    The Colorado River Crisis

It is not a question of ‘if’ the Colorado River will run dry, it is a matter of ‘when’.

The American Southwest has always been an arid landscape, but that did not stop people from moving west. From as early as 1893, it has been known that the Colorado River could not sustain such a large population. Despite this, the Southwest made the Colorado River it’s main source of water. Rather than seek alternative sources of water or focus on conservation, the government has falsified data and allowed exorbitant uses of water. Unless drastic measures are taken by governmental agencies and big corporations to reduce water loss, the river will run out, leaving 40 million people without access to clean water.

    Marine Plastic Pollution

Marine plastic pollution is a major environmental issue caused by the massive amounts of plastic waste entering our oceans. From single-use plastics to microplastics, this pollution harms marine life, disrupts ecosystems, and even affects human health. Sea creatures can become entangled in plastic debris or mistake it for food, leading to injury or death. Over time, plastics break down into tiny particles that contaminate water, seafood, and even the air. Human reliance on plastic, poor waste management, and lack of recycling contribute to the problem. Addressing marine plastic pollution requires global action, including reducing plastic use, improving waste disposal, and promoting sustainable alternatives. Without intervention, plastic waste will continue to threaten ocean biodiversity and human well-being.
