Lucianna Ochoa is a designer, but more importantly, a girl raised on the internet. Growing up constantly inspired by the creatives and media she found online, she also found a passion for design. Lucianna then went to pursue a B.S.D. in Visual Communication Design at Arizona State University where she expanded her multidisciplinary skills while simultaneously maintaining a colorful and whimsical perspective on the world. Lucianna hopes to one day work side by side with those same creatives who once inspired her and be a part of projects that go on to inspire other creatives.

Influencer Overconsumption

Influencer marketing is a billion dollar industry where viewers are encouraged to buy things they don’t need. The internet has given influencers and online content creators a powerful tool of persuasion which brands have discovered and weaponized against the average consumer. Influencers maintain a career held afloat by companies encouraging them to sell an impossible lifestyle to their audience. The online glorification of overconsumption has led to a socio-economic competition amongst online creators, shortened life-span of trends, planned obsolescence, and never ending waste. This capitalist manipulation leads to identities based on consumption and aesthetics, creating a toxic cycle for both influencers and internet users to stay trendy where the only winners are the brands.
