Animal Welfare
Hidden behind viral posts and adorable videos, the exotic pet trade is fueled by capture, confinement, and exploitation. What appears as playful companionship often begins with animals taken from the wild, separated from their mothers, and transported through illegal or harmful trade networks. Social media disguises suffering as entertainment, encouraging demand through likes, shares, and trends.
Because these animals are displayed in private homes, cafés, and influencer content, the harm remains largely unseen by being, protected by the illusion of cuteness and normalcy. This digital culture of sharing and spectacle exposes a quiet injustice, urging us to reconsider what is hidden behind the content we consume and who suffers for our entertainment.
