Tori Derwin is a multidisciplinary designer from Seattle, Washington, who moved to Arizona to pursue a degree at ASU. Originally studying astrophysics, she switched majors to embrace her creative side, earning a B.S. in Graphic Design. Tori is thrilled to be combining her childhood love of astronomy with design through her collaboration with the NASA Psyche Mission for her senior exhibition. During her time at ASU, she earned a Design Excellence Award, competed nationally for both the Rowing and Sailing Club, and served as Vice President of the ASU chapter of AIGA as well as the Rowing Club. Outside designing, Tori can be found attending concerts and raves, crushing it at the gym, gaming, and spending time in nature.
Pieces of Psyche
Space Exploration
The NASA Psyche Mission, led by ASU, launched a satellite in October 2023 to study 16 Psyche, a metal-rich asteroid that may reveal clues about Earth’s origins. The satellite will reach Mars for its gravity assist in May 2026, arrive at the asteroid mid-2029, and finish collecting data after 1,000+ orbits. The mission brings scientists, students, and designers together in the search for new discoveries and understanding—so get ready!
