Veiled Heritages
Tourism brings cultural exchange, but at what cost? Tourism brings people closer to history and culture, yet it also accelerates the destruction of what it seeks to celebrate. Vandalism, neglect, and cultural insensitivity are erasing heritage worldwide, while current preservation efforts, such as signs, fines, and reactive restoration, fall short. These solutions lack enforcement, fail to change behavior, and often come too late. This exhibition exposes the weaknesses in existing approaches and challenges the way we protect cultural sites. How can we preserve heritage without sacrificing accessibility? What stronger measures can be taken to ensure cultural integrity for future generations? By examining real cases and policies, this exhibition pushes for more effective, sustainable solutions before it’s too late.
