Andrew Burgess is a multimedia designer based in Phoenix and New York City. Raised in a multi-ethnic household with a lifelong interest in visual media, understanding the nuances of context and audience as they relate to visual outcomes are among his biggest interests. This background has led to his fascination with how the intersections of design, culture, and interactive technology can build distinctive design systems.
Entangled Structures
Entangled Structures critically examines institutional divisions between academic and creative disciplines. Developed in close collaboration with the NASA Psyche mission team—an inherently interdisciplinary endeavor—the project uses sewing as a metaphor for intellectual integration. It invites students, early-career thinkers, and creatives to consider their identities as nuanced, hybrid, and capable of weaving diverse interests into novel conceptual fabrics.
